Russell Street Community Self-Sufficient Project
The community of Russell Street, loughborough wish to start a community organization dedicated to, helping at first, our local community with not only brightening up and creating a more aware and safe environment, but for us all to help each not only be self-sufficient but to talk and eat together as there is a bond create from the sharing our stories and food.
So the plan is to be self-sufficient, we just started growing vegetables to sell on the Marios Tinentie Market stall which is a community run centre on the russell street estate. At current myself with friend we repair and fixed items such as, sofas, draws even bed heads thrown away or dumped to sell and wish to teach the community to do this for our community pot.
In addition to this we wish for kits we can use to create items to sell then use the profits to reinvest in that item or other items that as a community we can decided to sell.
This is my plan and I feel it is so simple, its just getting the funding and the word out to more people, food and social events on Russell Street as a community will do this.
Below are the items we need as a community to get us started. Anything atall you can donate will be appreciated.
The Russell Street Community need a one off donation of £2720 to get us started, but would be very grateful for any amount you can contribute, as every pound counts in making a difference and our dream of being self-sufficient as well as enriching the lives of those in our community. All donations will go directly towards to the Marios Tineneti Centre on Russell Street is our fund holder. Myself, Volunteers, Our Communtiy Members and the Marios Tinenti Centre will ensure that your contribution is used effectively and efficiently to maximize its impact and enable us to never ask for a contribution again, as our community will be self-sufficient and unified.
